1971 Mercury Cougar - SOLD

One of 1,723 Mercury Cougar base convertibles made in 1971, this car's value is drifting upward, and is certainly worth collector consideration. It has the 5.8L 285hp 351 Cleveland 4-barrel V8 engine. This particular body style was produced from 1971-1973 which makes it second generation, and last of the Cougar ponycars. Built by Ford Motor Company, the 2nd generation Cougar has the enlarged body/chassis design of a 3rd generation Ford Mustang, but has a 5 inch longer wheelbase. Mechanical and most body parts are easy to find and on the cheaper side; not to mention, the car is easy to work on for someone with the capability. Fully functional electric soft top, automatic transmission recently serviced, AM/FM radio, straight body, suspension operation, brakes, steering, wheel balance, cooling system, engine mounts all in great condition, and the more desirable ("bulletproof") 351C engine. With the car comes the original owners manual, and a spare front and rear bumper. Starts and runs every time; needs a little TLC, but has been appraised and will make someone a fine car.
